It has been observed that during last years braking systems have lost some balance characteristics they had already reached, for reasons such as: speed performance upgrades, spending review trend of the manufacturers, arrival of synthetic materials. Here lies the ambition of inventing a double function device that could, on one hand, reduce heat radiation coming from the pads towards clamp and oil, while on the other one, generate cooling for the pad in order to avoid sustained critical temperatures. Thus, there are special Hybrid Pads made of two parts: one produced with special thermal steel, the other consisting in a light-weight alloy with a high thermal-exchange rate.

The project have been carried out after a year of testing and comparisons done right on track before the final version release. The heat sinks have been designed using two different metal elements to optimize the pad's thermal insulation by the caliper and the cooling thereof. The main body of the heat sink is made of thermal steel with a high degree of heat conductivity. The material is first laser cut and then CNC machined. The slots have two purposes: first is to reduce the contact surface, second - to release the hot air formed inside the brake piston cavity by reducing the hot chamber effect, as the propagation of heat in the piston and oil. The steel sink's main body is connected to a light alloy heat sink made of special aluminum with high thermal conductivity, which has the task of assisting the heat dissipation process.

Tests have shown a reduction in the pad's temperature to a maximum of 20 degrees, substantial improvement in braking, incredible stability at braking start, optimum rollback value of pads resulting in a hot free wheel. Brake pads also have shown to have a longer life of 25% due to a less temperature burdensome usage.

APPLICATION: BREMBO M4 + M50 + STILEMA

Ducati DESERTX (2022 – )

Ducati DESMOSEDICI 1000 RR (2008)

Ducati 1098 / 1098S / Tricolore (2007 – 2009)
Ducati 1098R / Bayliss #21 (2008 – 2009)
Ducati 1198 / 1198S / 1198R / SP (2009 – 2011)
Ducati 848 Evo (2011 – 2013)
Ducati 848 Evo Corse SE (2012 – 2013)

Ducati 1199 PANIGALE (2012 – 2014)
Ducati 1299 PANIGALE (2015 – 2018)
Ducati PANIGALE V4 / V4S / Speciale / V4R (2018<span style="color: #000000;
